The modern world has accelerated the growth of means of entertainment. Leveraging this trend, some firms have advertised themselves by sponsoring sports or sports stars. While it has some drawbacks, I firmly believe that the advantages will outweigh the disadvantages.
If corporate bodies didn’t invest in sports or their stars, there would be some benefits. Firstly, their expense spending for it would be used to develop their images, products, or services, making them more prevalent and better. For instance, Tesla has only concentrated on upgrading their products and services to attract more clients. As a result, their automobiles were manufactured to adapt to global standards for electric cars, becoming one of the most prominent cars in the world. Secondly, they could avoid disrepute from scandals in sports, affecting their budget and reputation.
On the other hand, spending money on sports has brought about a number of benefits. The main reason for this view is that sports stars will represent companies to advertise their commodities to the public. Nike, a manufacturer of sporty shoes and clothes, has invited many players from a wide range of sports, even giving them the latest products to use as a marketing strategy. Thanks to this, businesses benefit by linking their image to a healthy and popular activity, enhancing consumer trust in brands which sponsor their favorite sports or athletes.
In conclusion, while investing money in sports and sports stars may have some drawbacks affecting a brand’s image, it brings more benefits in terms of their profit and consumer loyalty.
