Band 5+: Some countries achieve international success by building specialized facilities to train top athletes instead of providing sports facilities that everyone can use. Is it a positive or negative development?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The question of positive and negative sides of achievement international success of some nations that rely on developing facilities to train top athletes instead of building public sports facilities that everyone can use has always drawn lots of notice and discussion from people of all kinds in the society. Although this can bring about some benefits, I strongly argue that its negative aspects are noticeable.

On the other hand, there are a whole host of benefits of improving facilities to train talented players. First, it helps players improve their skills themselves. Therefore, they can bring high achievement for countries that improving image of nation and achieve rewards. For example, the Vietnamese government provided funds to establish football institutions such as Hoang Anh Gia Lai to train and support children who have an innate ability. As a result, numerous young talented football players such as Xuan Truong and Tuan Anh were trained intensively and excelled in football matches, enhancing the position of Vietnam in international sports.

On the other hand, there are a number of disadvantages of improving facilities to train talented player. The main serious disadvantage of public health is affected. It is obvious that humans do not have the opportunity to access sports facilities, causing obesity, cardiovascular disease, …. to become a social burden. For example, many young people today lack healthy habits in their daily lives, causing disease rates to increase. An additional disadvantage of improving facilities to train talented players is to consume the country’s budget. That money can help difficult situations, build parks and play areas for children in remote areas.

In conclusion, despite the obvious merits of bringing glory to the country, its shortcomings including people’s health and people’s life should not be overlooked.
