Band 6+: Some countries allow 18-years-old people to start driving. Others believe that it is better to start driving at 25 years old. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The debate surrounding the legally mandated age for individuals to begin driving has gained significant traction in recent years. Some argue that the appropriate age to start driving should be 25 years old, while others, myself included, believe that commencing the driving journey at eighteen years old is more logical and comprehensive. In this essay, both views will be discussed.

When it comes to the legal age for driving, one of the most pronounced aspects that should be considered is the ability of learning. Admittedly, when people are younger, there is a higher capability and faster pace pf learning, compared to adults, hence a significant decline in required efforts for acquiring driving skills. Furthermore, when individuals reach their eighteens, they possess required cognitive abilities and have enough maturity to follow the driving instructions and obey the law, being fully aware of the consequences of their driving, leading to law-abiding drivers.

On the other hand, it is argued by others that allowing for driving at a later age, twenty-five years old, for example, contribute to mitigating the potential detrimental consequences of a careless or dangerous driving, such as car accidents or death. Admittedly, the less excitement and more prudent behavior, exhibited by older individuals can foster a more secure and conservative driving culture.

In conclusion, while some people argue that the legal age for driving should be twenty-five yeas old, I still believe that 18 years old is a more proper age, as they have faster learning ability and enough cognitive maturity to take responsibility for their individual actions.
