In certain countries, youths are permitted to work part-time jobs. It is considered by many that it is good, while others who consider that students need to pay full attention to their studies, disagree. In my opinion, I totally agree with the idea because university students have to understand the meaning of life as soon as they become adults.
University students’ school days are only 2 to 3 days a week. Therefore, youths are free for 4 days straight. In those days, most students work part-time jobs; subsequently, doing part-time jobs could cover the living costs, especially for international students. In fact, most countries in the world provide teenagers who study in university with part-time job opportunities. On the other hand, others disagree because they might consider that working can interrupt youths’ studies. So, time management plays a crucial role for teenagers.
If teenagers work paid jobs, they can receive life experiences such as how to communicate with people politely, how to be independent, and so on. Furthermore, they might learn life lessons by doing a part-time job. Youths will eventually know the value of work and how hard life is. However, they can’t forget the fact that they are students, which means they still need to focus on their studies regularly, whereas they earn money for their living costs.
In conclusion, the idea that students are allowed to do part-time jobs is significantly reasonable. Besides, it helps youths know how to manage their time. As adults, they must face many challenges in life. Moreover, they may gain confidence that they can be independent.
