With the prevalence in usage of modern technology such as artificial intelligence in public sector. Some professionals have urged the government to control its utilization claiming that it affects human cognitive function. However, others argue that technological advancement is beneficial for competency in work. I firmly agree to the former opinion because humans are becoming too dependent on computer and its result can be full of errors.
One significant reason why experts suggest that machine intelligence should not be excessively used in government sectors is that it affects decision making. Government services like visa issuance should not be handled by these machines as it lacks the ability to evaluate applicants, and determine who should be granted entry to enter the country. Additionally, allowing AI system to be responsible for public record will hinder accountability if errors occur.
In contrast, automation machines process vast amounts of data that are unmatched by human capability. However, these robots can produce incorrect results if not supervised by humans. For example, A computer often misspells words especially native names that are not English because they are not programmed to recognize it. This makes its typing to be full of errors.
In conclusion, due to the rise in need of automation machinery, scholars have argued that the government should enact laws to limit this implementation. They believe that it is negatively affecting human ability to make decisions. While others insist that this technology is essential for effective task achievement, I completely agree that machines could lead to diminished cognitive ability, and also if not properly checked by humans, it can produce many inaccurate results.
