In the connectedworld , communication has played a vital role for success where the timing of introducing another language is a subject of ongoing debate.Most researchers tend to argued that language should be taught in a primary school instead of secondary school. Is it worth teaching international language in a young age though?This essay will discuss both benefits and drawbacks of learning foreign language in a primary school rather than secondary school and provide a logical conclusion.
Initiating with the benefits of same,the first and foremost key benefit is students can easily get the language they are learning.For instance, a child’s mind is capable of coping more ideas, processes of learning compared to aduld.Another benefit which can strike the minds of a people is a child is able to understand the value of another language which can be helpful for them in the future.To cite an example ,it helps to enhance a child’s linguistic abilities and make them speak fluently to other people while traveling.
Om it’s darker side,some of the drawbacks which makes it problematic are firstly,children are likely to have less knowledge about their mother tongue. For example, introducing foreign language makes them prioritize that language full with less knowledge about their own language. It is seen that most of the students of boarding school are weak in their own language. What’s more, making children knoww about second language can cause heavy pressure on them.At this stage, they have to learn more than 7 subjects including math ,science and adding one more language in a curriculum leads them to have more stress.
To conclude,learning international language have both advantages and disadvantages but personally I believe that its pros can outweigh the consequences by enhancing child’s linguistic abilities and promoting overall development.
