It is believed by some that the presence of technology has led to an increase in the complexity of people’s lives, prompting a suggestion that technology should be avoided in order to simplify life. In my view, I partially agree with this notion for the following reasons.
Undoubtedly, the introduction of advanced technological devices has contributed to the increased complexity of daily life. This complexity is evident not only for older generations who were accustomed to simpler tools in the past, but also for younger individuals, who may also find modern technology challenging to navigate. For instance, the process of mailing a letter, which once involved simply writing and sending it via post, has now become more intricate with the abundance of functions and buttons in modern email interfaces. This technological advancement can often perplex individuals, particularly the elderly.
Conversely, technology has the potential to enhance the well-being of individuals. The development of state-of-the-art medical devices and medications, made possible through technological advancements, has significantly improved healthcare and treatment options. In the past, people often relied on ineffective and even harmful traditional remedies. As a result of technological progress, medical diagnosis and treatment can now be conducted with greater ease and accuracy, ultimately benefiting both the physical and mental health of individuals.
In conclusion, while it is undeniable that technology has its drawbacks, I firmly believe that its integration into daily life is indispensable. The numerous advantages that have arisen as a result of technological advancements should not be overlooked. Instead of shunning technology, individuals should strive to harness its potential effectively to further enhance their lives.
