Nowadays, the income of modern artists varies significantly. While some authors earn huge sums of money for their work , others struggle to make some for living. Some people believe that governments should take steps to solve this problem. I partly agree with this opinion because artists deserve financial support, but their earnings should not be limited.
On the one hand, governments should provide financial support to artists who can not earn enough money. Because art plays an important role in society , it helps preserve cultural traditions , expresses different ideas and views. However, not all talented artists receive public recognition or have the opportunity to sell their works. For example , young painters and musicians may produce high quality work but struggle to find customers . Governments could support them by providing grants , organising exhibitions and creating affordable spaces for artistic activities. This would give more people the opportunity to develop their talents.
On the other hand, I do not believe that governments should interfere with how much successful artists earn. In a free market , people should be able to decide how much they could pay for a particular piece of art. Some artists become extremely popular because their work is unique and attracts a large number of people . Limiting their income would be unfair and could reduce their motivation to create new works. Moreover, artistic success often depends on individual creativity, effort and public demand rather than government decisions.
In conclusion, I believe that governments should help artists who face financial difficulties by offering grants and other help. Nevertheless , they should not restrict the earrings of successful artists, as everyone should have the freedom to benefit from their own achievements.
