In the contemporary era, some parents contend that young people should solely concentrate on their academic achievements in their free time. However, others argue that such a stressful environment can create numerous adverse effects on their overall well-being. From my perspective, although educational activities can be beneficial, children should grow up in a nurturing and supportive environment, which allows them to cultivate a wide range of essential skills.
On the one hand, it is true that parental supervision is instrumental in children’s academic performance. Most importantly, parents help children manage their time effectively, as time management is vitally important for students, particularly adolescents. For example, young individuals often spend excessive time on digital devices such as smartphones, which can distract them from studying and negatively affect their academic performance. Moreover, parental guidance can be extremely beneficial in cultivating crucial skills such as discipline. For example, when children understand the importance of discipline at an early age, they are more likely to achieve their long-term goals with dedication. Consequently, the role of parents in children’s lives remains indispensable.
On the other hand, it is argued that a stressful environment might cause many detrimental effects on children’s overall well-being. Above all, a nurturing and supportive environment is a crucial requirement for children’s development, as it allows them to express their thoughts and emotions freely. As a result, such children are more likely to develop strong and healthy relationships. Moreover, free time is essential for unwinding and relaxation, as an insufficient amount of rest can result in stress and anxiety in children. Consequently, a lack of adequate rest can have serious negative impacts on their health.
In conclusion, although parental supervision is essential for helping children understand the importance of discipline, they also require a supportive and nurturing environment to ensure their overall well-being.
