In the recent decades, more and more youngsters have spent more than 4 hours on their mobile devices every other day. The reason behind this trend is that technology enhancement which young adults have not learnt how to use appropriately yet. In my personal view, I contend that the negative development outweigh its positive side.
Technology is developing day by day which has made people get addicted to it. Young adults play the biggest part when it comes to addicted to something easily. Software companies have been using an algorithm which shows posts or reels based on what type of content that the person spending most of his/her time. As a result, doom scrolling has become the most exciting part of their everyday life. Without restriction or supervision, this trend will soon be urgent among children.
Children, got addicted to their smart phones, become vulnerable to mental health issues, such as depression or anxiety. For instance, 3 out of 5 children who went to see the doctor and prescribed medicine was due to phone addiction. Moreover, spending inappropriate amount of time looking at screen affects one’s eyesight. One significant example of this is more than 40 per cent of children in Mongolia is wearing glasses, shows how badly light produced by screen affects our eyes.
I, however, conclude that using mobile devices every day not only leads to mental health issues but also weakens eye sights. That is the reason, its negative side surely outweigh its positive development.
