These days, educational institutions have decided to encourage students to take up enrichment initiatives in their spare time. Many parents maintain that their children should be engaged in such educational activities during their free time. Others argue that youth should be exempt from extracurricular activities since it might cause them to be under pressure. This essay will examine both viewpoints and come to a logical conclusion.
On the one hand, it is believed that when students participate in educational initiatives, they can acquire good habits and enhance their knowledge. Some parents may claim that participating in knowledge-enhancing programs after school might foster intellectual development, making their children well-rounded. Another potential reason is that sometimes parents may work until the evening and therefore do not have the opportunity to pick up their children and look after them.
On the other hand, some people claim that youth should be engaged in their hobbies during their leisure time instead of taking part in enrichment initiatives. This is because adolescents should partake only in affairs they are interested in in their formative years; otherwise, their dreams and goals will be suddenly shattered. As a result, many parents nurture their children to support their beliefs and aims. A further argument is that for some pupils, it is rather complicated to combine both studies and extracurricular activities, as both require a lot of dedication. Therefore, guardians who want the best childhood for their kids may support the idea of not participating in enrichment programs.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that participating in knowledge-enhancing activities during spare time should not be mandatory, since it argued that juggling hobbies and school studies can be hard for teenagers, as this causes much pressure on them. However, I maintain that schools can organize some educational programs for passionate or interested students to take part in.
