In today’s society many parents choose to raise their children by always fulfilling their demand and allowing them to freedom of choose as they please. From my perspective, this approach to parenting is not beneficial, as it may lead to have negative effects on children’s development and, as a result, inability to overcome challenges in adulthood.
On one hand, permissive parenting negatively impacts children’s behavior by fostering every manipulative action and destroying responsibility. This can make it difficult for them to adapt to environments that require impartial and compassionate, such as schools or workplaces. When children grow up believing they are always entitled to special treatment, they may lack appreciation for others’ efforts and ignoring values of the people around. Moreover, constant satisfaction of stubbornness often result in deceitfulness and self-centeredness. For example, children who always receive what they want without earning it may develop a sense of entitlement, leading to frustration or aggression when their expectations are unmet.
In the long term, this parenting style can stopped personal growth and social adeptness. Overprotected children often struggle to adapt to competitive workplaces, which value not only talent or creative but also patience and teamwork. For instance, children who have been extensively spoiled frequently absence the manners and self-discipline necessary for success in their careers. Employers are unlikely to hire individuals who do not show respect. Lastly, these children may not be well-liked or admired by those around them due to their negative attitudes. This could result of isolation and loneliness, which may carry on throughout their adult lives.
In conclusion, while some parents believe that catering to their children’s every wish and allowing unrestricted freedom is a positive approach, I believe that it is not helpful to the holistic development of youngsters. The potential consequences, including a lack of essential life skills and difficulties in social interactions, highlight the drawbacks of such a parenting style. Parents should aim a strike a balance between providing support and setting boundaries the ensure of the well-being and success of their children in long term period.
