The debate arises between groups of individuals who reckon that higher qualifications or work experience are essential for a well-paying job. However, I believe that both are crucial for securing a high-paying job. This essay will discuss why practical and theoretical knowledge is essential for getting a well-paying job.
On the one side, academic credentials are mandatory documents when a person applies for a job. To elaborate, high-skilled professions value the academic performance of a candidate because it not only shows theoretical knowledge but also demonstrates comprehensive skills. To cite an example, in medical or CA types of jobs, the first requirement is the ability of the student to work during college. Consequently, it will not take a long training duration if a person has a strong academic background, due to their higher chances of securing well-paying jobs at the starting level.
On the other side, hands-on work experience is also an important feature for finding a well-paying job because it showcases the practical knowledge of a person. Although bookish knowledge provides fundamentals of the field, practical experiments teach important skills, which are crucial for high-paying salary jobs. For instance, trading companies hire employees based on their practical knowledge and skills because in these types of jobs, work experience is more important than academic knowledge. As a result, people acquire desired jobs by demonstrating their talent on completed projects.
In conclusion, from my perspective, the type of job decides which is the more important factor, either a higher degree or work experience, but practical or theoretical knowledge plays a vital role in securing a high-paying job, indeed.
