Some humans hold the belief that extended years in jail decrease the number of crimes, but others suggest that more options should be considered. While some possibilities such as good behavior and pay bail are approved for some punishments provide, I completely agree with the opinion that long prison is necessary, so people will be aware of their actions.
Evidently, all the crimes are different as well as their sentences. However, some of them are reduced or ended when the offender provides a good behavior or posts bail to get out of jail. Furthermore, these are occasionally cases depending on the type of crime and it severity. For example, a burglary or theft usually have a prison period, but in some opportunities, the delinquents pay for it and shorten their punishment.
On the other hand, the belief that someone who commits a crime should be subjected to a fixed punishment scheme. In my opinion, this should be completely strict because it is the main path to create awareness in the society about the sentences of their conducts and moreover, their consequences. For instance, many women have been documented telling the experience about violence, abuse and assault against them by their partner and after paying bail are out of prison and keep committing this type of crime over and over again with the same or different woman.
In conclusion, undoubtedly a severe and long punishment in prison will decrease the number of crimes and create awareness in the society of their actions, while provide other alternatives could lead to repeat offenses and criminal would be brave of their consequences.
