In the contemporary world, there is a strong debate about higher education’s impact on future achievements and success. Some people think that education is the only requirement for this, while others hold the opposite opinion. In this essay, I will discuss both beliefs and prove why a higher degree is not essential to succeed in life.
On the one hand, university education can improve an individual’s knowledge and skills in the specialty that they are pursuing. In other words, further investigation in a field may assist people in their future career, because they would be able to gain experience and relationships with professionals, so this will derive in a deeper understanding of subject. Additionally, prestigious universities offer numerous opportunities for job employment, and help to get extra income in future prospects. For instance, recent reports have indicated that graduates of Harvard University earn 70,000 $ per month on average.
On the other hand, a bachelor’s degree is not necessary for a bright future. Moreover, purposeful youngsters full of decisiveness are able to expand their worldview or launch a promising business instead of wasting their several years in an educational center. Most people lack self-confidence to determine and realize their dreams, so they prefer attending a university as an alternative rather than endeavoring to achieve their goals. To illustrate, the case of Steve Jobs, who launched the renowned company Apple for its breakthroughs in digital technologies, had not acquired a higher education and demonstrated how to attain a goal without subordination to society’s standards.
To conclude, in my opinion, even though universities can offer many opportunities in job choice and future earnings, a persistent person would be able to become successful with an absence of diploma. Nevertheless, it is only everyone’s personal choice whether to continue studying or attempt to venture.
