There is a serious question that people argue about a lot, whether the schools should be concerned and pay more attention on the practical abilities like meal preparing, financial literacy or maintenance skills. In this essay, I would like to tell how focusing on the knowledge that can be pretty handle in the future could possibly be a great opportunity to increase the level and importance of school education, and how it is possible for the students themselves.
The main value that a student can get from learning basic things is an ability to deal with a routine easily, swiftly, and for free. Everyone in the world sometimes faces simple problems as changing a car’s tires, clogs in the restroom or sewing a major hole in the shirt, but less and less people today are capable to do it. Instead, more people prefer to simply hire someone to deal with these issues, but it costs money, and it is never known when you would see that problem ever again. For this reason, it is financially valuable to get the necessary knowledge and to save money for more important things.
Another value for students to be taught how to handle live issues on regular basis is the fact that they can always use this knowledge to help others and be useful. With the special training they would be able to earn extra money whenever they need to. As it was mentioned above, things to sew or repair occur daily and the professionals that are capable to assist with it are in a high demand. Schools that could provide the same knowledge, would present its students a present for the rest of their lives.
In conclusion, benefits of teaching students important practical skills lie in the fact that anyone could face a routine to deal with. Providing lessons related to this knowledge at school could drastically increase the value and general level of education.
