A number of people are antagonistic to the action that the government provide financial support to foreign countries while a group of domestic people are in need. However, others hold an opposite view. I firmly concur with the latter that financial aids should still be given to other nations for the reasons that it signifies national sympathy and underprevileged people are constantly existing. In the following paragraph, the above reasons will be further discussed with detail.
First and foremost, providing succour is symbol of sympathy of a nation, which may improve the diplomatic ties between countries. It is because sympathy can also be comprehended as a friendly attitude, and the aid can be seen as a willingness to give support, which could foster international cooperation. Furthermore, the cooperation can benefit underprevileged domestic citizens in various forms. For instance, China has helped African countries build railways. During the construction time, many poeple in China are living in poverty, but this project provided huge number of job vacancies as it is labour-intensive, this helped the unemployed and also established bonds between China and African countries who may aid Chinese in emergencies. It is clear to see that international aid can create positive impact on disadvantaged people.
Secondly, underprevileged people’s existence is a persistent issue in any society, such as no unemployment cannot be achieved because of friction unemployment and cyclic unemployment. The former means the unemployment due to people shifting between jobs, and the later refers to the job losing caused by the lowering of aggregate demand in the economy which happens regularly. Both unemployment are naturally occuring and are regulated automatically without intervention. Therefore, it is an unwise decision to refuse paying international aid that may bring benefits to people because of normal phenomenon that is impossible to solve completely. Moreover, there is not a contradiction between subsidise disadvantaged people and aid foreign countries. Obviously, it is inadvisable to stop a beneficial behaviour due to a eternal problem.
In conclusion, international aids should not be opposed when there are underprevileged citizens because it is advantageous to these people in need and the government should not give up a rewarding action for unsolvable issues.
