In society, there are many ways to decrease the crime. Because of this issue, people have different ideas about how to manage the violent. Some people among them have opinion that rehabilitation should be focused deeply more than punishment for criminals. From my perspective, I disagree with this statement. To make issue better, I will venture a couple of view.
The first, what will happen if constabulary just rehabilitate and not punish criminals? It certain that the advantage of that solution is help the crime know about their fault and remind them. But it not always that, with cruel criminals such as murderers, serial killers, …When criminals have served their entire sentence and prison reform period, we cannot be sure that they will change and become good people or they be continuous a criminal after being released from prison. Therefore, we need to use punishment on violent to make people know what they have to face if they break a law and then be deter and consider.
The second, punishment help authorities deter crimes but if we do not rehabilitate, we can not help prisoners change themselves radically. We need to rehabilitate lawbreakers to make them aware of mistakes and regret because they harmed other people rather than regret because they broke a law and have to go to the prison. Through that create a foundation to help prisoners change.
In a nutshell, both ways all bring us benefits, but when we just use one way, management lawbreakers will be harder. So in my opinion, we should combine both of methods rather just focus one thing, to manage the crime easier and create a safety society.
