Band 7+: Some people argue that young people are unfit for holding significant positions in the government, while others maintain that it is beneficial for them to occupy such roles. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

There is an ongoing debate about whether young people should hold important roles in government. Some people believe that they lack the experience needed for such responsibilities, while others think their involvement can bring fresh ideas and improvements. This essay will discuss both sides and give my own opinion.

On one hand, many people think young individuals are not ready for high-level government jobs. They often do not have enough experience in politics, decision-making, and leadership. These roles require deep knowledge of law, public policy, and international affairs, which usually come with time. Young people may also act emotionally or make mistakes due to lack of maturity, which can lead to serious consequences in a government setting.

On the other hand, there are those who believe young people can make a positive impact if given the chance. They are often more energetic, creative, and open to change. In many cases, they better understand modern issues such as technology, climate change, and youth unemployment. Young leaders can bring new ideas and connect better with younger generations, which may lead to a more balanced and progressive government.

In my opinion, young people should be allowed to hold important positions if they have the right education, skills, and motivation. While experience is important, it should not be the only factor. A mix of young and older leaders can create a more dynamic and effective government, combining wisdom with innovation.

In conclusion, although some believe young people are not suitable for senior government roles, others see great potential in their participation. I believe that age should not be a barrier if the person is capable and prepared for the role.
