There is an ongoing debate surrounding whether using online materials for students is better than studying with written resources. This essay will assess both perspectives and provide my opinion supported by logical examples.
To begin with, throughout history, paper-based materials have been directly related to human knowledge. For instance, written resources such as books, journals, and newspapers have always been effective alternatives for communities to enhance their understanding of the latest news. Moreover, printed documents, which are considered key informative and reliable sources, do not have a detrimental influence on people’s vision. However, it is undeniable that the limitations of printed materials have somewhat diminished their reputation.
On the other hand, the advent of technology has revolutionized the way people conduct research. For example, accessing a vast amount of information without needing written documents is now possible through our smartphones, computers, and laptops. Furthermore, people can share various pieces of information via the Internet without any limitations. As a result, an increasing number of young adults are expressing a strong preference for enhancing their knowledge through online reading. Undoubtedly, this has a remarkable positive impact on the educational system. Therefore, the implementation of online reading systems in schools and colleges should be prioritized to provide students with easy access to more information. However, the risk of vision problems has consistently been recognized as one of the common health issues among teenagers and young adults.
To sum up, although learning through the Internet certainly has drawbacks, we cannot ignore that printed documents limit access to significant amounts of information. In my opinion, both methods of learning should be utilized together to complement each other and address their respective shortcomings.
