Some people think that students should do homework daily, while others feel it is not needed. This essay will discuss both opinions and explain why I believe homework is important but should not be excessive.
On the one hand, giving homework every day can help children remember what they learn in school. If students practice their lessons at home, they are more likely to understand the subjects better. This is especially helpful for subjects like math and science, which require a lot of practice. For example, in many schools, students who do daily exercises in math tend to perform better in exams. Therefore, homework can be useful for reinforcing knowledge.
On the other hand, too much homework can be stressful for children. If students spend too much time doing schoolwork at home, they might not have enough time to relax or play. This can make them feel tired and unmotivated. For instance, in some countries, students have so much homework that they sleep very late, which affects their health. Thus, having no homework or a small amount may be better for students’ well-being.
In my opinion, homework is helpful, but it should not be given every day in large amounts. Instead, schools should balance learning and free time so that students do not feel too much pressure. If children get the right amount of homework, they can benefit from it without feeling stressed.
To conclude, while daily homework can improve learning, too much of it can be harmful. Schools should find a way to give students useful assignments without making them feel overwhelmed.
