There is a debate among individuals on whether children should dedicate all their free time to educational purposes, if not, they will waste time. Although there are numerous benefits when children spend time studying more in their leisure time, but forcing the youngs to only learn in their spare time can also cause a vast amount number of negative effects. In this essay, i will be analysing and mentioning honorable examples of why we should help children focus on other fields in life in their free time and will end with me supporting the disagreeing perspective.
To begin with, kids consume knowledge faster when they are happy. Pressuring our children into studying in their rest time can lead to situations where they can feel burned out or stressed, and those unhealthy emotions can affect their performance in lots of areas, including studying, therefore, to mitigate those circumstances, they ought to be embraced to pursue activities that they grew fond of, as a result, it can tremendously enhance their mental and help them improve their ability to learn and adapt to more difficult situations. In addition, scientific, humans release happy chemicals when we are doing our hobbies, and studies brought out by universities have shown that people are 70% more creative in a positive and healthy environment compared to the citizens working in a less attractive environment.
Moreover, forcing children to approach new educational materials can have the opposite effect. For most adults, it is easier for them to discipline themselves into working or studying more when they have opportunities, whereas in teenagers or toddlers, self control is just only a small concept, because they can get easily distracted by more appealing things, and with most kids have a tendency to rebel, thus, using harsh methods to make them study in the spare time can make them feel annoyed and get irritated. Additionally, it can even pour more stress on them, due to the fact that we stripped away their rights to to have a break and enjoy happiness, hence, it will affect on how they perceive the world and their meaning in life.
In conclusion, even though exploring and thinking abstractly about concepts may be be a good habit, but forcefully making our children to do it all the time can reverse the result of the original intention. Under these circumstances, i disagree that children should do only educational activities in their free time.
