It is believed that competition among children should be supported. Other people think that kids need to co-operate rather than compete, I support the view of those who give an environment for young people that promotes cooperative skills.
One argument in favor of competition among kids is that this sense of being better and competition to achieve more can help children stay motivated. Moreover, these situations provide an opportunity to compare themselves with others. For example, in my school we have a wall which demonstrates the best students, so we can look up to them and perhaps that may encourage young students to work harder; to be like them and to be in the photo with them.
Nevertheless, children who are taught to co-operate become more useful adults. Obviously, kids that can work in a team rather than compete achieve better results because of their collaborative approach. Young people become more productive in the future because they develop their social skills and enjoy working with other children.
In conclusion, although some people might claim that children need to be in competitive atmosphere because this can motivate them and time to compare yourself with others, the great social and teamwork with other kids provide better results.
