Some people claim that computers and the internet are more vital to a child’s education than schools and teachers. Alternatively, some believe that schools and teachers have a more potential role of the children’s education. Both points of view are important and will be discussed and then a personal opinion.
In developed countries, the use of computers and the internet is often seen as more suitable for a child’s education due to the availability of advanced technology. For an example, educational tools such as dictionary applications and online websites can easily access information, which can greatly improve a child’s learning skill. Moreover, Instead of carrying hard copy text books, using personal IT products such as laptop, tablet, iPad, it can be reduced storage space and also compact and reliable. Some types of videos conferencing application such as zoom, ms teams, also provide more convenience for learning instead of travelling to physical schools. These technologies allow for more effective learning experiences.
In contrast, in developing countries, the role of conventional schools and teachers is still essential. Teachers in those countries play an important role in monitoring each student’s progress and productivity, providing personalized guidance that technology alone cannot fulfill. Additionally, schools serve as fundamental environments for children to develop social skills through collaboration with each other and participation in group activities. These social experiences are necessary for a child’s overall development, highlighting the necessity of teachers and traditional schooling for an inclusive education in developing countries.
In my opinion, while digital devices provide valuable resources and learning opportunities, they cannot substitute the essential role of institutions and educators. Technology should collaborate with formal education rather than replace it. Learning centers and instructors deliver the organization, the guidance and social experiences for a complete education. The combination of digital solutions and classic teaching methods can create the best educational experience.
In conclusion, both technology and traditional education play major roles in a child’s education. Technology offers valuable resources and tools, while schools and teachers provide essential guidance and social interaction. Combining these elements can support an effective learning environment.
