In modern years, many of people believe that internet and modern technology tools are essential for child’s education while the others think that traditional schools and teachers are suitable for children. In my opinion, it is better for children that schools and teachers can teach varieties of knowledge for their future education.
On one side of the argument, there are people who hold the opinion that computers and internet are more important learning resources for children. Technology provides unlimited accessibility and resources as well as information. Children can learn flexibly a wide range of learning resources and can explore their deep interest at their own space. For instance, some learning platforms like Coursera and edX allow to learn subjects depending on child’s interest but, it will need a stable connection for learning. Furthermore, children can improve in digital literacy such as critical thinking, technology skill and productivity. Proficient in digital skills can be benefit not only in their education but also in future careers. For example, pursuing computer software and project presentation. However, self-learning can be feeling loneliness and reduce their collaboration and community skills in society.
In spite of the above argument, I hold the view that school and teachers are more suitable for children education. The one reason why I take this view is that these institutes provide structured environment for children not only in academic learning but also life-skill such as teamwork, communication, problem solving skills. Teachers play a crucial role in modern education for personalized guidance, mentoring, emotional support for children who feel struggle with studies while technology cannot offer. Children can get real life experiences and improve teamwork communication by performing in group projects. Additionally, schools are essential for community and help children for development of social skill and their responsibility.
In conclusion, while both of these views are commonly held in society, I believe that schools and teachers are fundamental need for children education. This is because they offer guidance, social skill and psychological support for each individual. Given this situation, it is important that schools and teachers would provide the most comprehensive and well-rounded environment for children.
