Proponents of economic growth believe that financial improvement should be the priority of country’s goal due to providing adequate facilities. While others argue that other types of progress such as education is equally important to improve human resource.
To begin with, some believe that government should be more focus on increasing nation’s income in order to facilitate their people with appropriate facilities, such as sophisticated technology. That is to say, modern tech tends to have higher cost, thus money plays an important role in this matter. Furthermore, by enabling high tech devices for citizens, not only could they enhance their progression by its features, it also assists them in exploring new insight. For example, people who are equipped with a better device tend to be more eager to explore new knowledges compared to those who do not. However, despite the advantageous of it, I believe that only focusing on economic growth has its drawback, such as the lack of human’s quality to utilize the available facilities.
In contrast, other proponents argue that other aspect of progression such as education should not be underestimated, for it could significantly improve human’s quality. Putting it simply, while good facilities offer an outside support, education in other hand providing support from one’s inside. This is because education offers an upgrade of one’s quality from their core, resulting in an increase in human’s ability to maximize the available resource as best as possible. For instance, after the World War 2, emperor Hirohito quoted “gather all the remaining teacher, and I will make Japan be the great country in 50 years”. It was indicated that the emperor prefers to fix the education first before the economic. Therefore, I agree that country should pay more attention on education for a long-term goal.
In conclusion, while some people believe that financial growth should be prioritized for better facilities, others argue that other progress such as education is also as important due to improving citizen’s quality. Therefore, I suggest that government should put education first before economical growth to enhance their people cognitive ability.
