The compensation of entertainers leads to arguments about its soundness when considering their influence on society. While some people state that their beneficial effects justify the amount of payment, I personally disagree with them since these careers spread an incorrect attitude and fail to take responsibility for the negative impact.
Firstly, making up their appearance to be perceived as flawless characters creates an illusive personification. This part of the career brings an incorrect belief to the community because many juveniles recognize them as role models and attempt to change everything to be similar. For example, in the East Asian region, the white dolly face is a trend that comes from the entertainment industry, which is trying to promote female idols in another form of beauty. However, facial adjustments can only be performed by medical practices such as surgery and substance injection, which are extremely expensive. In unaffordable cases, the operation will be performed by scammers, causing other problems.
Secondly, they often carelessly choose the wrong kind of product to be a brand ambassador and later apologize when their product is found to be malicious with shameless sincerity. There is a recent direct sales case in Thailand, later revealed as a Ponzi scheme. In the first moment of this product’s launch, the company gathered many high-name stars to promote its products. The campaign appeared normal, but when inspecting the company’s structure, the initiated intentions were doubtful. After the truth was revealed, some entertainers were discovered to be founders.
In conclusion, despite some people believing that the entertainers’ compensation and their impact are relevant, I cannot agree with them because of the resulting illusive beliefs and their lack of responsibility.
