In recent years, how the government should invest money has become a controversial issue. A number of people think that the government ought to provide financial support to citizens to purchase electric-powered vehicles. I strongly concur with this perception as this enterprise may play a vital role in promoting the use of electric transports by making them more affordable to the public and reducing the environment pollution.
One major reason why the government has to incentivize electric vehicles is to make these less expensive for people. Nowadays, electric cars are more expensive than traditional vehicles for which people hesitate to buy EVs, but if the government sponsors 30% or 50% of the amount required to purchase these means of transport, citizens could be motivated to buy them for daily use. For example, developed countries like Norway allow subsidies and reduce taxes for the buyers of battery-driven vehicles, which often increase the sales of electric automobiles. As a result, now, even the ordinary people are the owners of their personal rechargeable vehicles, upgrading their living standard, which could not be possible without government support. So, this is clearly evident that when the state pays half the price of the electric vehicles, people can easily be encouraged to avail them within their limited budgets.
Another reason for supporting this initiative is to reduce environmental pollution. In other words, using electric vehicles operated by rechargeable batteries is an eco-friendly practice which does not harm the environment by releasing toxic gases such as Carbon-di-oxide, Methane, Sulfur-di-oxide, etc. while the conventional transports use fossil fuels and emit the harmful pollutants. So, if the government facilitates the mass people to buy these vehicles, they will decide to go for the more eco-friendly practice which will help the state achieve its environmental protection schemes. For instance, the mayor of Rajshahi has recently provided financial support to the inhabitants of his municipality to buy eco-friendly vehicles. As a result, almost everyone now uses electric-powered vehicles, and consequently, environmental pollution has decreased significantly in Rajshahi. This means government incentives for the use of electric automobiles can keep the air clean and limit the level of pollution.
In conclusion, I firmly support this viewpoint that the authorities have to aid the mass people financially to inspire them to own electric cars with a view to making electrified vehicles more reasonable and protecting the environment from contamination.
