Some people believe that plastic should be banned by government, while others argue that this action wouldn’t be the right decision. Although plastic is harmful for the environment, it is important and irreplaceable in some casee, for that I believe it shouldn’t be completely cancelled.
On the one hand, plastic has several drawbacks. It’s true that plastic significantly damages environment. It is the case because of the structure of the plastic. Plastic is material that takes a lot of years to decompose, and every stage of decomposition creates unique and harmful gases. Considering that plastic is one of the most used materials, it leads to the environment where people use plastic in crucial amounts, and all that plastic consistently damages environment. For instance, plastic bags are horrendously abused by the population, individuals use it instead of less harmful materials because it’s more convenient. It leads to the significant damage to the environment from these plastic bags for years.
On the other hand, there are several instances where plastic is crucial and can’t be replaced. As I mentioned earlier plastic bags are very convenient, but this is the advantage of the plastic as a material. Plastic is very flexible, and can be used in many ways, from boxes or bags to the tools in the army. Despite the opportunity to replace plastic with other materials in most cases, there are cases where plastic is must be used to keep the quality of the product. For example, plastic functions as a very effective cell or box for the meet, because it’s capable of keeping temperature, protecting from microbes and providing positive environment to the meat. Currently, there are not almost any as effective alternatives, therefore, it plastic is still used.
In my opinion, although plastic has significantly negative impact on the environment due to its structure, it is irreplaceable and important in come cases, for that it should not be completely banned. Otherwise, it would hurt some products, that can’t make usage of other materials. Taking into account the above, I believe government should strict the amount of unnecessary plastic that is used nowadays, such as plastic bags. But shouldn’t ban plastic in cases where it’s necessary.
In conclusion, plastic is harmful material, but it can be crucial in some cases. Therefore, government shouldn’t completely ban it, but make its usage more stricted.
