People argue that individual cell phone communication shall be tracked and monitored by authorities in order to keep peace and security, however, others contradict this act with regards to breach of privacy and its considered as violation. In my opinion, for most of the public it is illegal to access personal information without permission and it needs to be confidential.
Countries like the USA own a large organization like the FBI, which is in charge of security and safety, runs a large number of data to search for terrorists and criminals. Such, avprocess run through individual call logs and chat to scan for a threat and attack. The government is responsible to detect any terriorism act which ultimately harm the public and this should be prevented by conducting surveillance screening on suspected countries and individuals. For instance, there were several public attacks that was battled during the Iraq war through accessing terriorist phone book.
On the other hand, in today’s world our phone is a big part of us and interrogating into this without consent is a breach of privacy and break to human rights. People has life other than work and politics, they use their phones for it. Getting into personal information by accessing call records and reading text messages is an interrogation to individual freedom if there is no permission.
In summary, government should choose when looking for information that requires safety and security issues and mass of the public shall be protected from such attacks. And I reckon individual’s privacy shall not be breached in the process of peace keeping.
