However, its also a matter of privacy to use anyones information without letting them know.
Government have a huge role for the safety of any citizen of the country. So, they tend to go through personal details of suspectable people inorder to know their intentions. I think this is very crucial activity to decrease crime. If government looks after suspecious people frequently then they cannot do any sorts of crime.Also blackmailing others and demanding money is increasingly recently, if there are certain rules then these problems can be somehow reduced.
However, in the matter of privacy, noone is allowed to investigate someone without getting their permission. I think if government is free to investigate about anyone then it can be misused.
