For some people governments should have open access to people’s phone calls and messages for safety, but the others argue that this information must stay private and be available only with permission of the owner. Both views are understandable, but to my mind, history of calls and messages should be available to the government.
To start with, that information most of the time is important in unsolved criminality. For instance, if the government or the police are investigating the background story of a person. Where did that person go or with whom that person last talked to. To find the answer to these questions, police needs to go through the history of messages and calls. By having access to it, it would help them solve the criminal mystery. Moreover, it also helps to find out about the cause of an action certain person did, such as suicide, murder and so on. Not only for police, but it is also useful for government, in case they must prove something.
However, sometimes police could investigate a person who did not participate in criminal action, even so, it is necessary for them to check his history. There is no little doubt that every person has their own secrets. So what i am saying is that messages or even phone calls may contain private information. Because of that some people believe that the history should stay private.
Considering all of the above, access to phone calls and messages gives a great opportunity to solve any case for police officers, and to be able to prove something about certain person for government. Although considering other people’s opinion it is also better idea to ask for permission.
