Perspectives differ towards people’s health and wellbeing, with some claiming that the responsibility lies on the government while others arguing it is in people’s hands to care about their health. I personally contend that both individuals and authority should be accountable for staying healthy.
On the one hand, there is a pivotal role of the government to play in the provision of better healthcare for its citizens. It is true that not every person has access to healthcare facilities either because they reside in remote areas or due to financial constraints. According to healthcare statistics, in most parts of the world, particularly in developing countries, people are suffering from insufficient number of healthcare professionals with specialist knowledge. In addition, in rural communities, the locals have no clear guidance to maintain a healthy lifestyle. In this case, unless the government takes initiatives by funding healthcare infrastructure for the general population and raising their awareness about adverse effects of not doing exercise, people’s health can deteriorate.
On the other hand, people should follow an individual approach to stay healthy, Healthcare officials often come up with a warning that most chronic Inesses develop when a person gains extra weight. So, a person should not only rely on the government, instead they need to be actively engaged with physical exercises or go one a diet which enables them to remain a manageable size. When people are involved in some forms of exercise, they carry less weight which makes them immune to various diseases.
To conclude, I firmly believe that there should be a joint effort by both the government and individuals to promote a healthy lifestyle as our health is the most precious thing that we possess.
