It is argued that whether parents should directly read stories for their children or let them do it themselves with other sources such as books, TV and movies. In this essay, I would discuss both perspectives before proposing my own opinion on this matter.
On the one hand, some people emphasize the importance of direct storytelling for their offspring because this help to concrete family boding. This is because when little boys and girls are given the real care from their parents, they can feel warmth and want to be close with them. As a result, it is unlikely to trigger conflicts between two generations, making a happy environment in each home. Family happiness can be considered as the vital feature of sustainable social development, which contributes to a more healthy and cutting-edge community. However, it is likely that this is not enough to get the ultimate benefits.
Therefore, on the other hand, I believe that children should be allowed to acquire stories through different methods namely physical and online books as well as televisions. The first reason is that this helps them avoid boredom and repetition. Since parents’ voice is not sufficient to grab children’s attention, visualization and sounds from smart devices assist to build up their imagination more effectively, reducing tiredness. For instance, Disney movies including Cinderella, Beauty and the Beats are good choices for children to know about tales with the assistance of lively music and pictures. Another reason of giving children to do themselves stems from that it helps parents to spend time relaxing after a long working day. It can be seen easily that most parent are inundated in dealing with tasks in modern days, various sources are effective solutions to share activities related to playing with their kids.
In conclusion, although there are mixed opinions an determining children to acquire stories through their parents directly or using other sources to fulfil kids’ habits, I believe that they should do it themselves. The boredom avoidance and private time of parents could outweigh.
