Nowadays, it is believed to be more significant to educate students the literature and history of their own nations, rather than those of the others. However, children should be taught the literature and history of other countries for a variety of reasons. From my perspective, I partly approve of the statement.
To begin with, educators should apply several manners to the children to ensure that students enjoy learning about their own country and developing an awareness of the meaningfulness of literature and history. It can be explained that education ought to provide them with a full view of social subject to let them acknowledge their national culture being relevant to the history and pieces of writing. Additionally, it is essential to emphasize the educational continuity across the generations. It is meant that the lesson of the past events should be passed down from the ancestors to their children. Since history can be compared to a wheel, historic occurrences may be happened again and students can foresee it. Furthermore, literature has played a role of secretary of the times since human being invented the writing. Hence, scholars have the opportunity to study about the authentic description of the way people lived through the novelists’ masterpieces.
Besides, teachers had better deliver the clear lectures on global events and international literature to their students due to these drawbacks. The children can make questions about how the foreign history affected their nation one. Moreover, they may pay attention to the differences between their own country history and the foreign history because of the opposites of the geographical locations. To addition to understand the social speciality of other countries, students ought to be mentioned the complications of language barriers and translations exposed to international literature by their educators. It is meant that various slangs and idioms written in the foreign pieces of writing may be relevant to the legends and fairy tales.
Aspects of foreign history and literature should be in equal to the significant role of the local culture. In conclusion, it is desirable for schools to teach international and national social subjects owing to their benefits.
