Nowadays, some minorities believe that schools should have responsibility to prevent children to eat junk food, whereas others state that this is a obligation of parents to control their children’s eating habits. In this essay, I will discuss both of the sides of the argument and give my own preferred side with clear explanations.
On the one hand, schools should encourage children to eat more healthy food rather than fast foods for variety of reasons. Firstly, many youngsters mostly obey to their teachers or principles in their schools, whom they admire or are afraid of. For example, my younger brother always do what his teacher says rather than our parents words. Secondly, this issue is becoming so widely popular around almost every corner of the globe, and nearly half of the whole population suffering from obesity. So it’s not only parents obligation to teach their kids about serious consequences of junk food but also school authorities should get involved.
On the other hand, I still believe that keeping an eye for eating habits of a child is the obligation of their parents. Initially, their parents are the people who knows their child best, and they can lead this process before their kids go to the school. As a result, a child can form a habit of eating healthy foods rather than just ones. Moreover, schools should fully engage in giving an appropriate education rather than sitting down students and giving lectures about the bad effects of junk food which is which in turn makes students feel bored. As a result, they might lose their enthusiasm for going to school, as they always get lectures instead of appealing classes in math, foreign languages or other subjects that they have interested in.
In conclusion, I’m strongly convinced that taking responsibility for children’s eating habits is the job of their parents, despite some situation which might depend on schools in this work.
