Type of place to live in is a matter of personal preference. Therefore, one group of people feel that urban life is comfortable and exciting while others are of the opinion that rural areas are the places to live in peace. Actually, as both places have their own advantages, people weigh the advantages against their own taste and select their comfort zone to live in. To me, it appears that life in a city is more exciting, which is just my personal choice.
On the one hand, city life has a number of advantages to live in. To begin with, cities excel in terms of educational facilities. There are many primary and secondary schools, colleges, and both public and private universities for tertiary education; and these institutions are enriched with both resource persons and materials. Moreover, people living in a city enjoy having a strong and wide network of communication. For example, commuters can easily avail modern public transport like buses, metro rail and taxi. Another example is virtual communication through high speed internet facilities. Furthermore, modern medical facilities of urban life have made cities a safer place in terms of health security. Hospitals equipped with latest machines, specialized doctors, and diagnostic centres are the tremendous benefits that the city dwellers can avail. Therefore, life in a city has become comfortable on the basis of these facilities.
On the other hand, being gifted with some special aspects, village life has its own appeal. To start with, rural life is blessed with natural resources, for example: green natural beauty; fresh air; and fresh food like vegetables, fish, dairy items and fruits. These foods of villages are pure, not adulterated. In addition, villagers lead a healthier lifestyle as they work hard in fields, walk a long distance daily, and have an opportunity to play games that need physical involvement because there are plenty of playgrounds there. Besides, though the houses in a village are at a distance from one another, meaning a low density of people, it is notable that the interpersonal relationship among the villagers is stronger as they know every other person living in the area. Thus, with these boons, rural life has its own charm.
In conclusion, it is clear that both places, cities and villages, have their own kind of advantages or benefits. Personally, I feel comfortable to live in a city because of the facilities that urban life offers. However, I enjoy paying a visit to villages just for a while to enjoy the natural aspects and to get some mental space. But when it comes to choosing a place for living, I would rather prefer cities to villages. For other people, the question of settling upon between the two entirely depends on personal selection.
