It is considered by some people that mobile phones are distracting and should be banned in school classrooms, while others believe that they are crucial learning tools that should be allowed. Although one part of society believes that smartphones should be banned due to the lack of attention and troubles in communication among students, I believe that restrictions are destroying creativity and availability of data.
On the one hand, people all around the world are proposing banning phones due to a lack of attention in class and dissemination of declining communication skills between peers due to full engagement by phones during classes. It is crucial to eradicate these problems, as they are affecting pupils’ skills such as socialization, interaction with classmates and achieving good grades. A good instance is disparity in class where some students prefer outdoor activities instead of spending time on the phone, while the others prefer being occupied by phones, which distract them from social life and make their school performance worse.
On the other hand, there are recognizable utilities of smartphones, which consist of its vital role in development of learning tools, deriving information for studying purposes, and tremendous space for creativity. Furthermore, phones are embodiments of comprehensive support in task management by applications with a huge range of usage and possessing a huge opportunity for designers; alongside, access to complicated and complex data, which are far-fetching in reach. For instance, there are schools in the USA and Canada, where all tasks are carried out only by phones, due to valuable applications, which are helpful in terms of education and searching for information.
In conclusion, while some people consider the prohibition of phones in schools as relevant and reasonable, others lament the idea that there are crucial learning tools. Thus, I consider the idea of allowing phones in schools as wholesome.
