Some people believe that the main role of a school teacher is to motivate and inspire students, while others think that teachers should mainly provide knowledge. In my opinion, both roles are important, because students need good knowledge as well as motivation to learn effectively.
Firstly, teachers have an important responsibility to give students useful knowledge and skills. Schools are places where young people learn different subjects such as mathematics, science and languages. A teacher should explain difficult topics clearly and help students understand the information. Without proper knowledge, students may have problems in their future education and careers. Therefore, passing on knowledge is an essential part of teaching.
However, I also believe that motivating and inspiring students is very important. Some students may lose interest in studying when they find a subject difficult or boring. A good teacher can encourage them by giving positive feedback and showing how the subject can be useful in real life. For example, a teacher who makes lessons interesting can help students become more interested in learning and improve their confidence.
In my view, the best teachers combine both responsibilities. They should provide students with the necessary knowledge, but they should also support and encourage them. Knowledge without motivation may not be enough because students need the desire to use what they have learned.
In conclusion, I believe that a teacher’s role is not only to pass on knowledge but also to motivate and inspire students. Both aspects are necessary for students to develop academically and personally.
