Since doing sport is one of the most effective ways to keep fit, some people propose that elderly people ought to do exercises for their well-being, which I believe is absolutely true. However, there are some other people suggesting more efficient ways to maintain their health.
As we are living in a world where tons of people have a physically inactive lifestyle, which does not involve the amount of activity to be fit, some people believe elderly people should implement regular sport activities. Having not done enough physical exercises throughout life, elderly people face such problems as diabetes, obesity and different kinds of pain that occur in their bodies. I consider that doing simple sport exercises as jogging, yoga or swimming can be a very productive way to be in shape and healthy. For example, my father, who is retired and nearly 60 years old, has been running every morning for the last five years, and it helps him to stay in shape and to keep the level of his sugar in his blood stable. However before, he used to be overweight and had diabetes.
On the other hand, some people think that reaching strong health can be done by other better ways. Having healthy diet and consuming natural products, such as fruits and vegetables, can be a very effective way for old people’s well-being since these products consist of very little amount of fat and a lot of nutrition and vitamins. For example, if elderly people consume some fruit before going to sleep instead of chocolate bar, they might feel well the next day. Moreover, if they stick to this habit regularly, they are likely to see results very soon.
Overall, I support the idea that elderly people should take part in some sport activities and involve regular physical exercises to stay healthy and I believe that eating healthily is also a good way to be fit.
