It is considered by some that learning face-to-face in classroom is better than online learning, while others argue that virtual learning is more effective. This essay strongly believes that there are more benefits to traditional classroom education.
First and foremost, learning online comes with many distractions. This is because it requires our electronic gadget, therefore, it is really easy to get distracted by a notification and simply switching from learning platform to texting or social media. For example, during Covid lockdown, I needed to do online study, however, I kept losing focus while studying because of my friend’s text notifications. As a result, I kept on switching from learning to texting or using social media because it was too tempting and hard to resist. This experience also made my learning less effective and wasted my time.
Furthermore, classroom learning offers more focus due to the face-to-face interactions with the teacher. It is also a more suitable environment for productivity since it is surrounded by study material. For instance, when a student who studies in a classroom loses focus, the teacher will call them out or ask them a question to bring their attention back to learning. Additionally, classroom learning is more enjoyable than online learning. It allows students to make friends and study together. For example, my cousin doesn’t want to study or go to school, but after she makes some friends, she becomes more excited to go to school each day. She also said that she enjoyed classroom learning more as well because she and her friends can help each other learn. This shows that classroom education is not only more effective but also allows students to be social and build friendships.
In conclusion, I believe that classroom learning is better than online learning, due to the environment that design for productive study and less distraction. It offers students more opportunity to study efficiently. If there are fewer distractions, there will be more focus.
