Some people believe that face-to-face learning in a classroom is superior to online education, while others argue that virtual learning is more effective. This essay strongly asserts that traditional classroom education offers more benefits.
First and foremost, online learning is often accompanied by numerous distractions. Since it relies on electronic devices, it becomes all too easy to be sidetracked by notifications and to switch from the learning platform to texting or scrolling through social media. For example, during the COVID-19 lockdown, I needed to participate in online classes, but I frequently lost focus when my friends sent me text messages. I often found myself alternating between studying and social media because the temptation was overwhelming. This experience hindered my learning and wasted a significant amount of my time.
Moreover, classroom learning fosters greater concentration due to direct interactions with the teacher. It creates a more conducive environment for productivity, surrounded by study materials. For instance, if a student in a classroom loses focus, the teacher can directly engage them by calling them out or posing questions to redirect their attention towards learning. Additionally, classroom learning tends to be more enjoyable compared to online education, as it facilitates friendships and collaborative study. For example, although my cousin was initially reluctant to attend school, she became more enthusiastic about going after making friends. She has also expressed that she prefers classroom learning because she and her friends can support each other in their studies. This demonstrates that classroom education is not only more effective but also encourages social interactions and the formation of friendships.
In conclusion, I believe that classroom learning is superior to online learning due to its productive environment and reduced distractions. It provides students with more opportunities to study effectively. With fewer distractions, they can maintain greater focus.
