The statement of whether professionals in science and teaching must have higher wages than athletes and entertainment workers, is a topic of ongoing debate. I completely disagree with this view as it may cause social disparity and lack of confidence for individuals interested in other areas.
Firstly, the high salaries payed to doctors and teachers leads to increase in their quality of life compared to other workers. It also, presents easy access to some luxury trips and activities. For example, doctors and teachers can travel to other countries and experience new things like seasonal festivals and concerts while, athletes and entertainers might travel to other cities. In addition, those who get paid less can not afford to prepare all of their needs. They might get sick and don’t see a doctor because it is too expensive for them. Whereas, individuals with high salaries can spend their money on unnecessary cosmetic surgeries.
Secondly, when people do not get paid well, the lose their confidence and passion to pursue their interests. Nowadays, we see a lot of advancements in science and teaching technologies than in sports and entertainments. For example, new healthcare discoveries that treat various diseases. Moreover, the online courses that higher institutions hold for learners is an example for making access to education easier for everyone. The good salaries doctors and teachers get has resulted in all these progresses in these fields. In contrast, most athletes and entertainers don’t feel confident enough to explore new things and develop their skills. Therefore, they lose encourage and feel isolated.
In conclusion, all workers in all areas should get paid well and enough. So that, a society can benefit from all and make progress in global community.
