Some people think that professional workers such as doctors and teachers should get higher salaries than athletes and entertainers. From my point of view, I strongly disagree with this idea for many reasons, described in the following paragraphs.
It is true to say that occupations like doctors and teachers play a crucial role in all aspects of people, from learning to treatment. However, to debate which occupation should get paid more, it supposed to be considered from market value and their talent and skills. Based on market value, it is apparent that sports and entertainers are more influential than doctors and teachers since they are influential to global audiences and they can earn extra money from social media and events. Meanwhile, doctors and teachers are only known for their patients and students. Take Cristiano Ronaldo as an example he is one of the most popular people in the world as he has the highest wage salary than any other footballer. The reason he gets paid more than other players because he can attract football fans and many audiences to watch matches that he plays which has a significant advantage to his football club.
Additionally, I personally believe that sports and entertainers both require advanced skills to perform. It can be seen from basketball players that they have to hard and have good physicality. Not only that, but they also need discipline and patience to be successful on their career path. While entertainers have to train to get perform on the stage and they have to take good care of themselves. For example, Taylor Swift, whose music has over billions of views and fanbase accounting for millions. Before she became famous, she had to train her singing voice and be creative to make a song.
In conclusion, it is truly acceptable that sports and entertainers can get paid more than doctors and teachers due to those occupations needing highly skilled individuals and having great market value.
