Some individuals claim that unemployment will be common as almost human jobs will be carried out by robots and artificial intelligence. Other opponents believe that humans possess irreplaceable skills that robots cannot mimic. Personally, I agree more with the latter perspective due to several reasons explained in this essay.
There are several reasons why people argue that robots will take over most human jobs. In the past, almost occupations were done by humans without the interference of robots. However, with the rapid development of artificial intelligence, there are a lot of manual jobs replaced by automated systems. This help businesses take advantage of technological application and save their expenses. Therefore, most firms choose to apply technology in their operation that require fewer manual workers. In addition, low-level labor will be eliminated and replaced by creative and professional individuals. This shows that unemployment is not widespread at all, it means intellectual and qualified workers are always plays an important role in jobs.
Conversely, there are three reasons that explain why replacement is unlikely. Firstly, we cannot deny that robots and artificial intelligent were the successful achievements created by humans and their operation was in control of us. This shows that if there is not the existence of humans, it would not have robots. Secondly, robots’ operation is set in algorithm, their actions will be organized in a rigid frame. Nevertheless, many circumstances need to be active, flexible basing on different individuals, which humans possess it. Thirdly, there a lot of careers that require the interactive conversation between providers and users, such as psychological counseling and teaching. For example, regarding education, each student possesses their own ability to absorb knowledge, it requires teachers fix their information transmission method to ensure all students can comprehend.
In conclusion, the development of artificial intelligence brings about many advantages for humans but it cannot replace human jobs. Additionally, this growth requires workers always expand their knowledge to be unemployed.
