There are ongoing debates over whether teachers or students should be responsible for educational success. Some argue that teachers play a leading role in guiding the direction for students’ future life. While others comment that students vary in abilities, motivations and determinations, their performance and efforts are highly related to their life. In my opinion, both the teachers and the students contribute to educational success.
Educators has long been recognised as important role for fostering the growth the next generations. Children’s knowledge and horizon are largely shaped by what they’ve taught at school. Their intellectual ability form and develop mostly at school. Moreover, teacher also shape their future. Children spend most of their early life at school with teachers. They influence their students on social behaviours, attitude towards life as well as the directions for future career.
On the other hand, many people believe that there are wide variations among individuals, such as personalities, behaviours and hobbies. Students’ own efforts determine the who they are and what they want to be. Mentors only act as a guiding role while accompanying a child’s growth. If children do not behave as what they are expected, then many factors may play a role, such a growing environment, parenting skills as well as educational system.
In conclusion, although teachers serve as a tremendously important role for education at school, students’ own endeavours are equally important. Striking the balance between teacher and students can lead to educational success.
