In this fast paced world, communication has become the key to unlock a better future and a hopeful present. Technology has aided us in connecting the people from across the earth and in doing so, has improved people’s quality of life greatly.
On one hand, some people hold the stance that this ease in communication due to technology has, in more ways than one, lead to deterioriation of personal relations. It has caused a push towards superficiality and meaninglessness both in one’s daily life, and in society as a whole. In such an age, where technology has created a trend of instant and temporary dopamine rush through social media, specifically reels, interpersonal socialisation has definitely taken the largest impact, effectively nullifing the need to maintain such relations.
On the other hand it is the view of a large share of human society, myself inculded, that this age is an epoch of global connectivity, of evolution of viewpoints, primarily assisted by present day technology. Such massive improvements in communication and connectivity has brought closer cultures, languages, faiths and beliefs from across the world, enabling development of new solution to new problems and improved solutions to age-old ones. Take the One World Trade center for example, replacing the old trade towers. It stands as a symbol of global innovation, with architects from around the world collaborating to create a marvel never before seen by mankind.
Overall, though there is some truth behind the claim of reduction in quality of interpersonal relations due to improvement in communication technology, any such claim is massively outweighed by the impact of global communication achieved through it.
