A few individuals are concerned that new technical inventions have made our daily lives more complicated, whilst others assume that they have made life more convenient. This essay will illustrate the automation of routine processes as a major advantage of implementing technologies, while the increasing dependence of humanity on technologies can stand for the main drawback, followed by the author’s position.
The most advantageous thing about using new technologies is the ability to reduce the amount of time and energy taken to complete routine work. This means that special equipment such as conveyors, computer software systems, and dishwashers can save from a couple of minutes to an hour of boring and repetitive work. For instance, according to a recent survey conducted by the University of California back in 2024, more than 90% of modern families use dishwashers and smart vacuum cleaners in order to save their time on doing house chores.
On the other hand, the key downside of relying on such modern devices is a high dependence on this equipment and losing basic skills. Thereby, by constant using a calculator to solve some basic mathematical equations, individuals lose their skills of making ordinary logical operations and become more and more pendent on the assistance of electronic devices. The rapid falling of an average math score in both schools and universities serves as a principal example of decreasing in the ability to think logically among teenagers.
Finally, I suppose that the new technologies has a significant impact on both personal and professional lives, and this trend has more beneficial sides. The main point of my idea is that new inventions totally change our lives, and humanity need to be able to get along with these changes without losing their previous skills and knwledge gained by the thousand years of human beings’ existence.
Overall, some men and women assume that new devices have made our life more difficult, while others argue that it made our lives easier. I agree that the technologies have significantly changed our daily life, and the population of Earth must take responsibility on their interaction with technologies.
