Some individuals believe that it is a good idea to draw children’s attention to healthy eating habits while they are studying at school. However, others disagree, arguing that parents should take responsibility for guiding their children towards a healthy lifestyle.
From my point of view, some students may refuse to follow their teachers’ advice because they consider themselves mature and independent. As a result, teachers may face difficulties in managing such students. For example, girls aged 16 or 17 often feel that they understand life well enough and believe they have the freedom to make their own choices, even if they are not always wise.
On the other hand, I support the idea that parents are better suited to guide their children’s health related habits. Parents can control what their children eat, suggest physical activities, and can communicate openly with them. Besides, as I mentioned above, teachers already have many responsibilities and are expected to cover academic content. Therefore, they should not be required to monitor or establish students’ health routines. Instead, mothers and fathers should take the initiative to check what their children are eating, doing, or reading.
In conclusion, I believe parents hold more responsibility for their children’s health because teachers often lack the time and capacity to manage students’ lifestyles due to the large number of students in each class.
