The debate over whether pupils should spend their time more in school or should have frequent breaks is truly a contentious one. Some people believe that spending more time in school can increase students performance significantly because they can have wide range of knowledge about the task or occupation, while others think that students need more free time in order to achieve their goal and solely focus on practical skills or abilities. This essay will explore both perspectives before presenting my opinion.
Proponents of making school year longer argue that expanding the length of education can boost the performance of the student by enhancing capacity of mind to perform well in different activities. This is due to excess knowledge about the subject, which will make a pupil specialist in particular that sector. For instance, a medical student have knowledge about about different diseases learned from school and a pupil could be a doctor who can save the live of citizens. Having enough education automatically increases the skill and performance of a student. Furthermore, this talent can not be achieved outside of the universities.
Advocates of frequent break argue that leisure time can give a chance to learn about their passion, which can make them happy in their live. A jobless person have time to think about life and make better decision to achieve their dream. For example, in the USA, people are engaged in different activities rather than only going to colleges, which makes them more active towards their goal and more passionate. Everyone should know purpose of their live. Doing something that we love, boosts our strength and performance. So, focusing on our dream can uplift our ability as well as performance.
In conclusion, both points have logic and focuses on the growth of a student. So, in my opinion, schools should consider the importance of break and should provide free time for learners to live their life without any workload.
